What is laundry stripping?

Laundry stripping is the process of soaking your laundry in detergents and hot water. Which will help "strip" the laundry of build up detergent, fabric softener, dust, and grime.

Laundry stripping is really popular with the use of cloth diapers.

How do I strip my laundry?

Step 1:

Fill a top loading washer, bathtub or bucket with hot water

Step 2:

Add borax, baking soda, and a little laundry detergent

  • borax: 1/4 cup

  • baking soda: 1/4 cup

  • detergent: 1/2 cup

Step 3:

Mix the ingredients until dissolved

Step 4:

Add clean laundry to mix

Step 5:

Wait till water is cool, stirring occasionally

Step 6:

Rinse away the grime

Step 7:

Wash in machine with water only to wash away residue

Step 8:

Dry and fold/use as normal
