Can you use hydrogen peroxide in your home as a cleaning agent? ABSOULUTELY! As a eco-friendly and green cleaning company, we use A LOT of hydrogen peroxide in our cleanings. A few of the great things I find about using hydrogen peroxide are: there's no harsh or chemically smell, it's rather inexpensive, and it can be used on virtually anything! So what can you use hydrogen peroxide on?

Before we get started, WE ALWAYS USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE(3%)!!! IN MANY INSTANCES WE DILUTE IT, AND ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES!

Dishwasher Deodorizer and Sterilizer:

Hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic, so it helps kill germs and bacteria! It works well with other eco-friendly dishwasher detergents! I add about a cup (not diluted) to each load of dishes to help deodorize and sterilize my dishwasher.

Laundry:

Hydrogen peroxide is a great alternative to bleach! It is color safe and doesn't have a harsh smell. You can use hydrogen peroxide (as pictured above) or you may be able to find chlorine-free bleach in your laundry section at the market. As a matter of fact, if you look at a bottle of chlorine-free bleach, the ingredients are hydrogen peroxide and water. I add about a cup (not diluted) of peroxide to each load of laundry.

Mouthwash:

Once again, hydrogen peroxide is an antiseptic. It is a good alternative to Listerine and other mouthwashes. To use as a mouthwash, you'll want to dilute the hydrogen peroxide 1:3 with water. Then gargle for up to 60 seconds, then spit out.

Window Cleaner:

Hydrogen peroxide works great as a window cleaner! When used correctly, it leaves glass beautifully clean and streak-free, without the horrible smell and toxicity of ammonia. When I use hydrogen peroxide as a window cleaner, I dilute it with water to 1:1.

Please remember before trying any of these uses:

WE ALWAYS USE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE(3%)!!! IN MANY INSTANCES WE DILUTE IT, AND ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES!
