If you have a HEPA filter, how often should you change it?

There is no definitive answer as to how often you should change a vacuums HEPA filter. It really all depends on how much and how often you're using your vacuum. A general rule is check it every month, see whats building up and how dirty it's getting. If you use your vacuum on a daily basis, change it after 6 months to a year. If the HEPA filter is heavily soiled, then change it.
